Dear Manager, My name is James Osborne and I am from New Zealand. I am an experienced English Teacher with about 2 years experience, I have recently completed a TEFL certificate and of course I am a university graduate. I was living and teaching in Seoul for a little over 2 years from late 2007 until March 2010. Having just taken a break to travel and learn Spanish in South America, I am looking forward to returning to Korea again. I really enjoyed living and travelling in South Korea. I had a few Korean friends in New Zealand who first got me interested in Korea. Getting to know them and the culture they brought with them inspired me to come to South Korea and get to know it better. I have since made a lot of friends in Korea, learnt to appreciate the unique culture and I am a big fan of Korean food - I even learnt how to make kimchi. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand, with a double Major in Ecology and Geography. I now have an International Teacher Training TEFL certificate which I passed with a grade A. From March 2009 – March 2010 I taught at Dongsan Elementary school, in Seoul. Before that I was teaching at Ewha American Language Academy for about 7 months (Until the school had to downsize when the recession hit – all but 2 teachers lost their jobs). I have really enjoyed living and teaching in Korea and know I make a good teacher! Before I first came to Korea I had just completed a contract with the Ministry for Environment in New Zealand as an advisor for contaminated sites cleanup. I was also tutoring English a couple of hours a week, privately on a part time basis. This I have done very well with noticeable improvements in conversational English and grammar. To be good at what I do requires many of the skills that are essential in an ESL classroom, and I greatly look forward to putting them to use in your school. Now that I have also completed a TEFL, I am more confident and excited to teach than ever. I am available to work from February/March 2011 onwards.
