I have a Bachelor of Art Degree in Japanese and certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. As a highly compassionate and approachable teaching professional, with one year of English teaching experience in Japanese public school, I am confident in my ability to become a valuable member of your teaching staff. Through my university years and working as a full-time ALT (Assistant Language Teacher), I find it enjoyable and am willing to take another great opportunity to instruct a wide diversity of students from various backgrounds and different cultures. I believe that I am a compassionate and enthusiastic teacher, who remains sensitive to children's unique needs, provides strong support, and offers positive encouragement and reinforcement to keep students focused and motivated. I grew up as a Korean New-Zealander who is proficient in both English and Korean along with strong familiarity in Asian cultures, specifically in the educational aspect. I have experienced learning English as a second language at a young age, so I know what it is like to overcome the challenges. This is another strong point that allows me to guide students to a more effective way of learning English than any other English teacher can offer.
